Brundtland Report
Who is involved?
Mrs. Harlem Brundtland was born on April 20 of 1939 in a small city of Norway, she is a social democratic, politician, diplomat and physician, she also served three times as the first minister of Norway, but one of her biggest achievements was having the opportunity to be the leader of the international sustainable development and social health, and of course being able to write the Brundtland Report.
The Brundtlands report is a report written by Mrs. Harlem Brundtland in the year 1987 her report talks about sustainable development as "development that meets the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs”. Since the report was written in 1978, the Brundtland Report has become one of the most important political and environmental vocabulary words in almost all the world. Even though the term sustainable development can be used in different ways, the most accurate way to define it is by saying the” 1987 Brundtland Report”.
We understood what the Brundtland Report was about and how it benefits the world. We learned that to make a real change we need more people to get involved into this idea and have the initiative to make this happen. We realized that combining politics with environment gives an amazing result and that making a leader understand the results of damaging the environment makes it easier to expand the idea and actually plant something that is going to work. We know that now it is important to take care of the environment and not only think about solutions, but perform them.
Why?
The Brundtland Report was created because the World Commission on Environment and Development was asked to write “a global agenda for change”. They wanted to write the report in order to:
* To propose a long term strategy to achieve sustainable development by the year 2000 and beyond.
* To consider ways by which the communities can deal more effectively with environment problems.
* A long term agenda for taking actions during the coming years, and for to reach the goals for the world environmental community.
* To recommend ways of concerns for the environment with the relation of people, resources, environment, and development.
* To propose a long term strategy to achieve sustainable development by the year 2000 and beyond.
* To consider ways by which the communities can deal more effectively with environment problems.
* A long term agenda for taking actions during the coming years, and for to reach the goals for the world environmental community.
* To recommend ways of concerns for the environment with the relation of people, resources, environment, and development.

Conclusion
We understood what the Brundtland Report was about and how it benefits the world. We learned that to make a real change we need more people to get involved into this idea and have the initiative to make this happen. We realized that combining politics with environment gives an amazing result and that making a leader understand the results of damaging the environment makes it easier to expand the idea and actually plant something that is going to work. For society:
Is an excelent way to start raising awareness from the leaders of the country and having the support of them helps to get to masses instead of small groups.
It is almost impossible to force all of the society to take care of the environment and to have good results it is needed a big number of people determined to help.
For the environment:
Completely reduces the abuse of natural resources and as a result supports the idea of sustainability.
There are no disadvantages for the environment since the whole objective is taking care of it.
For politics:
Helps finding solutions for environmental issues which affect relationships between governments.
Finding solutions is hard since every point of view is different and the desire to help is not wide.
For economy:
If the use of resources becomes balanced and energy as well in the present, on the future it is going to be easier to balance this factors so in the future they can also be used. So money is not lost in the future to repair the damage.
The report demands a certain investment so money is always going to be needed to take after this projec
